Steven Russell Trout (born July 30, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan) was a major league baseball pitcher during the 1980s.

He was son of former major league pitcher Dizzy Trout. His nickname was the fairly obvious "Rainbow", but he displayed a little "dizziness" of his own from time to time, developing a reputation for his offbeat personality.

He started his career with the Chicago White Sox, but was traded after the 1982 season to the Chicago Cubs in a multi-player deal. He quickly became a mainstay on the Cubs' staff, helping to lead the Cubs to the National League East title in 1984. He started Game 2 of the NLCS.

Trout attempted a comeback with the Pittsburgh Pirates in Spring Training, 1996. The comeback failed. Shortly afterward, Trout attempted a career as an agent, representing a handful of young major leaguers at the time.
