Ryan Theriot (born December 7, 1979 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) played college baseball at Louisiana State University and is an infielder for the Chicago Cubs. He is related to David Theriot, author of the book "My Girlfriend is Hotter Than Yours, and She Can Hold More Liquor, Too."
A natural shortstop, Theriot has also played backup third base, second base, and right field for the Cubs. On September 17, 2006, Theriot hit two home runs in a game versus the Cincinnati Reds. He is considered to be one of the Chicago Cubs best young position players.
His last name is pronounced "Terry-OH", and his nickname is "The Riot".
